We have been inspired by the immense challenge that one of our clients, Elliot Awin, is undertaking for charity.
This year, in December, Elliot will be rowing 3,000 miles solo and unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean taking part in an endurance race titled “The World’s Toughest Row”.
But what led Elliot to take on such an extraordinary challenge? Elliot had struggled living with heart arrythmia and, in 2020, after five years in and out of hospitals trying to maintain a regular heart rhythm, he became the recipient of a CRT-P pacemaker device.
Elliot’s experiences spurred him on to help others with the same condition and he set up the Wave Wrangler charity, for which our very own Andy Skilton acts as Treasurer. The charity’s aims are, not only to raise funds to provide defibrillators to sports centres and communities, but also to provide a vital platform for those living with arrythmia to share their stories and experiences.
Funds that Elliot raises for taking part in the Atlantic Challenge will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.
