Before you buy

Correctly maintained in-house accounting systems increase efficiency, promote business growth through the analysis of financial information, and reduce accountancy costs (and stress levels). Most businesses use accounting software, and Brewers' current preferred supplier is Sage Accounting Products.

Sage accounting products cover a wide range of business types and sizes, from sole traders (Sage Instant) to large corporations (Sage 500). It's important you choose the right product, so you can get the most out of it without spending more than you need.

As well as value for money, you should consider other factors such as:

• how many people will use the software at the same time?
• what information will I need from the system?
• am I tracking stock?
• do I really need multi-currency functionality?
• do I need a full sales/purchase order-processing suite?
